Our most important evening of the year, held at The Odney Club in beautiful grounds beside the River Thames. After the ceremony we sit down to four courses, each with its own wine, finishing with cheese and port.

With the starter
Chardonnay, Burgundy
Fresh citrus and stone fruit, balanced by a subtle creaminess and good acidity.
With the main
Gamay, Beaujolais
Fruit forward with structure and depth, full of ripe red berries, cherries and a subtle earthy character.
With dessert
Riesling, Australia
Bright, fresh and aromatic, with plenty of citrus and a crisp acidity.
With the cheese
Port, Portugal
Rich and concentrated, with ripe black fruit, dark chocolate and spice.

Gourmet Lodge No. 10008 is a Berkshire lodge where brethren meet to enjoy fine dining at worthy establishments.
We meet twice a year: the Installation Meeting on the fourth Wednesday in October, and a second meeting on the fourth Wednesday in March. Dinner dress is worn.

On Monday 15th July 2019 five freemasons held an informal meeting at Sindlesham to consider forming a new Lodge in Berkshire. The main purpose was to have fine dining, good wines in elegant surroundings and above all to enjoy each other's company, hence the name "Gourmet Lodge".
Berries Lodge No 2928 became the Sponsor Lodge and the petition was signed by the PGM at their regular meeting on Monday 17th February 2020. W Bro Adrian Quick, a member of Berries, designed the Lodge emblem, and 30 brethren from around and outside the Province became Founders.
Wednesday 28th October 2020 was the original date to consecrate the Lodge, but the coronavirus pandemic suspended all masonic meetings, and several freemasons and members of their families sadly lost loved ones.
Eventually on Tuesday 14th December 2021 the Consecration of the Gourmet Lodge was held at The Berkshire Masonic Centre, Sindlesham, in the presence of Right Worshipful Brother Anthony Charles Howlett-Bolton OBE. 120 attended, with VW Bro Peter J Sands (DepPGM) installing the Primus Master W Bro John W Nixon PPAGM into the chair of King Solomon. Sindlesham provided a veritable gastronomic meal, the wine flowed, and the evening finished with the Founders singing the "Visitors Song" to all the welcomed guests. Thanks must be recorded to W Bro John Brunt, Secretary, and W Bro Mark Heppelthwaite, Director of Ceremonies, for their hard work in organising the event.
